Embolism, the blocking of a blood vessel by particles carried in the bloodstream.
Endosseous implant, an implant that lies within the jawbone.
Cantilever bridge, a free-end bridge attached on one side only.
Extension implant, an implant that is not shaped like a screw, pin or cylinder but has a form that is not rotationally symmetrical.
Extraction, the removal of teeth and roots.
Extraoral implant, an endosseous implant outside the mouth used to anchor an epithesis. An epithesis is an individually modelled acrylic replacement covering surface defects, particularly in the face; it usually consists of a rigid and a permanently soft layer.
