Template-guided, minimally invasive implant placement
The image data from 3D diagnostics can be used for virtual implant planning. The aims are a comprehensive and reliable analysis of the implant site and exact implant positioning in line with the prosthetic plan. Virtual implants can be positioned and aligned on the computer, and the optimal length and the correct implant diameter can be determined. This makes it possible to check whether there is enough bone around the implant and whether the safety distances to nerves, tooth roots or a neighbouring implant are maintained.
On the basis of exact planning on the computer, three-dimensional diagnostics allows a gentle implant procedure. Thanks to a 3D-based navigation template, produced by a dental laboratory from the recorded jaw data, implant placement can be carried out in a more minimally invasive way. Template-guided, minimally invasive implant placement: an opening in the mucosa of only a few millimetres is often enough to place the implant. The template allows implants to be inserted exactly in the position desired from both a surgical and a prosthetic point of view.
